The Story
Sarah Shultz could have leased a tidy strip-mall suite. Instead, she spent 2018 restoring a dated brick building in the heart of Leo — uncovering the brick from under old plaster, keeping the original floors and tin ceiling, and preserving the soot shadows of a fire that swept through more than seventy-five years ago.
Sarah's road here ran through art school photography studies, years behind the chair, industry education — and styling at New York Fashion Week, with a feature in Modern Salon along the way. When the doors opened the day after Christmas 2018, two hundred neighbors came to the open house. "Everyone has heard 'mi casa es su casa' — my house is your house — and this is my second home."
Her philosophy: haircutting is geometry. A sculpture. And the experience matters as much as the result.
